Amos Strange


Amos Strange (1759-1842) was born in Virginia, and later fought as a private in the North Carolina Militia during the American Revolution. Following the war, he migrated to Laurens County, South Carolina. His sons William Bradford Strange, Littleberry Strange, and Amos Bradford Strange settled in Chattooga County.

The entry for Amos Strange from the South Carolina Federal Pension Report for 1835 reads as follows:

$27.27 ANNUAL ALLOWANCE
$68.17 AMOUNT RECEIVED
FEBRUARY 20, 1833 PENSION STARTED
