Last Will and Testament of John McGee
State of Georgia
Harris County

In the name of God, amen.
I, John McGee of Said State and County being of advanced age and knowing that 
I must, according to nature sooner or later depart this life deem it right 
and proper as respects my family and myself, that I should make a disposition 
of my property with, which a Kind Providence has left me, do therefore make 
this my last will and testament.

1st Item:  I desire that my body be buried in decent and Christian manner, 
suitable to my circumstances and condition in life.

2nd Item:  I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay 
by my Executors herein after appointed.

3rd Item:  I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Nancy, all my Landed 
Estate lying on the east side of the road leading from Hamilton to Goodman 
Cross Roads, with the improvements thereon, together with all my Household 
and Kitchen furniture, plantation tools, waggon and cart, horses, mules, 
cattle, hogs, sheep and every other species of stock I now have.

4th Item:  I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy - six of my negroes 
of her own selection, such as she may desire, said property so named in Item 
third, also the negroes named in this item is only given to my said wife 
Nancy for and during her natural life and at her death to be equally divided 
between my then living children - 1 portion to go to my grandchildren by my 
deceased daughter Lodiskie Babb, to wit,Caroline and Eliza - another portion 
to go to my Daughter Cocord Babb and her children, free from the control of 
her present husband or his death or any future husband - the other portions 
to be equally divided between my six sons Janett Revel, wife of Jesse Revel 
(my oldest daughter).  My last mentioned daughter to receive her portion in 
the same manner as my other daughter, that is I give her portion to her and 
her children free from the control or debts of her present or any future 
husband: my Sons to wit James, Alfred, John, Tolliver, Milton, Mark to 
receive their portion of the above named property in fee simple at her death, 
that is the death of my wife.

5th Itam:  I give and bequeath to my above named children and grandchildren, 
to wit, James, Alfred, John, Tolliver, Milton, Mark, Janett Revel, and her 
children, Lodiskie Babb and her children, Caroline and Eliza Babb my 
grandchildren the balance of my property both land and negroes, debts owing 
to me -- other than the property given to my wife in Item Third and Fourth 
the property hereby bequeathed in this item is given to my said children in 
the same manner as the property that are received from their Mother at her 
death in Item three and four.  That is it given (and I wish no mistake) to my 
before named daughters and their children free from the control or debts of 
their present or future husbands to my sons in fee simple at my death.

6th Item:  I hereby constitute and appoint my sons James McGee, Alfred Mcgee, 
John McGee, Tolliver McGee, Milton McGee and Mark McGee Execitors of this my 
last will and testament.
