S. R. Leggett dies after a long illness. Silas R. Leggett, 72, after several weeks illness, died at his home on Route 3, between Baxley and Alma Wednesday morning from heart affection.

The deceased was a native of Appling County and had lived within the bounds of the county during his long and useful life. He was highly respected, and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

The deceased is survived by two sons R. E. and John Leggett, of Appling County and by one daughter, Mrs. Kizzie Harden of Baxley. Services will be held this (Thursday) morning at 11:30 o'clock, to be conducted by Rev. G. N. Smith and interment will be in the Crosby Cemetery.
