George Malone LANIER - b. 2/9/1791 d. 7/22/1854. George served in the War of 1812 and the Creek Indian War of 1813-14. He died in Clarke Co., GA. [2nd cousin, 5 times removed of Tennessee Meeks of Bacon Co.]
Isaac CARTER - b. 1790 d. 1854. Enlisted September 24, 1814 in the South Carolina Militia, War of 1812. He joined Capt. Tristam Bethea's Co. of Artillery for a six month term, and was given a disability discharge Nov 25, 1814 at Haddrill's Point, SC. [Great-Grandfather of George William Douglas of Bacon Co.]
Benjamin JAMES - b. Mar 4, 1791. Benjamin James served as a Private in the War of 1812. He was drafted into service June 27, 1812, at Whippy's Swamp in Beaufort District, SC, in Capt. Haywood's Company. He was honorably discharged in Beaufort, SC on Oct. 1, 1812. On April 8, 1851 he made his application for bounty land based on this service, and was granted 80 acres. [Husband of 2nd Gr-Grandaunt of Loyal Douglas of Bacon Co.]
John TANNER - b. 1750-1784 d. 1827. During the War of 1812, in the roster of Capt. Robert Quarterman's Co. of Second Regiment Georgia Militia, John Tanner is listed as a Private. This company was raised in Liberty Co., Jan, 18, 1815 and mustered out at Riceboro on Feb. 26, 1815. It was commanded by Lt. Col. John Pray, of Brig. Gen. John Floyd's Brigade of Maj. Gen. John McIntosh's Division. [3rd great-grandfather of Walter Loyal Douglas of Bacon Co.]
