Personally before me comes Mrs. Martha B. Allan of said State and County, and after being duly sworn, on oath says that she desires to apply for a pension allowed under the Act of .....1910, and submit testimony to make out the same, true answers makes to the following questions to-wit:

1. What is your name, and where do you reside?

M. B. Allan, Banks county Ga.

2. How long and since when have you been a continuing resident of the State of Georgia?

All my life. 63 years.

3. When, where and to whom were you married?

Nov. 30th 1869, Banks county, James C. Allan.

4. When, where and in what Company and Regiment did your husband serve as a soldier in the Confederate Army or Georgia Militia? (State the arms and class of service.)

April 1861.  Homer Ga. Co. A 2nd Ga. Regt.

5. When and where did the Commands of your husband surrender or discharge from the Army?

April 1865.  Appomatox Court House.

6. Was your husband personally present at the time of the surrender or discharge of this Command?

No, but was imprisoned at Point Lookout.

7. If not present state clearly where he was?

Point Lookout.

8. Where was his command when he left?

Va.

a. For what cause did he leave his Command?

Taken Prisoner.

b. By whose authority did he leave his Command?

Good.

In Prison.

h. Was he captured by the enemy at any time?

Yes.

i. If so, when and where captured and where held prisoner, and when and for what cause released?

June 1864.  Captured at Waynesboro, Ga. and held prisoner til June 22nd 1865, at Point Lookout Md.

j. When and where did your husband die?

May 5th 1912.  Banks county Georgia.

k. Were you residing with him when he died?

Yes.

l. If not, how long had you resided apart?

9. What property of any description did you own, hold or control for your use and its cash value, Nov. 4, 1908?

None.

10. What property of any kind have you sold or given away since Nov. 4, 1908?  What was received for it and what did you do with the proceeds thereof?

None.

11. What property of any description of any value have you now?

8 acres land.  Give list and cash value. $200.00.

12. What are you annual earnings or income and their value?

About $25.00.

13. Have you heretofore been paid a pension by the State?

No.

Note-Martha Burns Wynn Allan is buried at the Wynne/Wynn family cemetery in Banks county, Ga.  Her stone reads: “Wife of James Charlton Allan”, June 3, 1849-Aug. 8, 1920.
