Widow’s Affidavit.

 

State of Georgia,

Banks County.

Personally before me comes Mrs. S. A. Barrett of said County, who, after being duly sworn, says that she is the widow of A. B. Barrett to whom, in the county of Lumpkin State of Georgia she was married on the 23 day of December 1869, and that she remained his wife, resided with him to the date of his death on August 13 1920, and she has not since remarried.  At the time of his death he was a resident of Banks County, in said State of Georgia, and he was on the Ind. & Serv. Pension Roll of the State of Georgia, and paid a pension of $100.00 in Banks County for 1920 per annum on account of being a soldier in Company C Regiment Cobbs Legion.

That she now is a bona fide resident citizen of said County of Banks and she has so continuously resided since the ....day of 1880.

Affidavit of Witnesses to Prove Marriage and to Whom

Date of Death of Husband.

 

State of Georgia,

Banks County.

Personally before me comes J. N. Hill known to be responsible and truthful persons, residing in said County, who after being duly sworn, say; that of his own personal knowledge Mrs. S. A. Barrett, who made the foregoing affidavit, is the lawful widow of A. B. Barrett who died in Banks County in said State of Georgia on 13 day of August 1920, and that she has not since remarried.  That she became the wife of “See certificate and Copy of License” and that A. B. Barrett was the same man who was on the pension roll of said State Georgia from Banks County when he died.

To and Judge, Justice of the Peace of Minister of the Gospel:

You care hereby authorized to join Alexander Barrett and Miss Sarah Evans in the Holy State of Matrimony, according to the Constitutional Laws of this State, and for doing this shall be your License.

And you are hereby required to return this License to me, with your Certificate hereon of the fact and date of Marriage.

Given under my hand and seal, this 17 day of Dec. 1869.
