[Handwritten letter]

Georgia Banks County

In person comes J. H. Brooks who being duly sworn says He omitted to add that he was in the Army of the Confederate States and now adds these words as can be seen in application.

That he served in the Cavalry of the 1st Ga. Regiment and has added the same to his application.

That the word Kingston was a clerical mistake, and is stricken, and the words “near Savannah, Ga.”, is added.  So the Command was discharged near Savannah, Ga. And that applicant was present at the time of discharge and surrender.

Signed: J. H. Brooks

Sworn to and subscribed before me This Oct. 19th 1914.
