Widow of J. T. Ledbetter [John T. Ledbetter]

And Handed To T. F. Hill

 

For Widows Heretofore Allowed Pensions.

 

State of Georgia,

County of Banks.

Personally Comes Mrs. E. E. Ledbetter who, being sworn, says on oath, that she is a bona fide resident of said county of Banks State of Georgia, and that she has RESIDED in said State continuously ever since her birth 1837.  That she is the Widow of J. T. Ledbetter who was a soldier in Company G of the 3rd Regiment of Georgia Volunteers, that he enlisted on or about the month of February 1863 and served in the Army up to May 1864.  That he lost his life on the ..... day of ......... 18.... (State here full particulars of the husband’s death, when, where and from what cause.)

He contracted fever in Virginia and was sent to Farmville in to the Hospital where he died as above stated May 1864.

Deponent swears that she was the wife of the deceased soldier, during his service in the army as a soldier, and that she has never married since his death aforesaid, and she became his wife in 1859. [married in Franklin County, Ga.]

I have been allowed a pension as a resident of Banks County for the year ending February 15th, 1898,[see note above denoting transfer from Jackson County Ga.] and now apply for the pension provided by law for the year ending February 15th, 1899.

I, T. F. Hill Ordinary of said County, certify that I am well acquainted with Mrs. E. E. Ledbetter who made the above affidavit and am satisfied that the facts therein stated are true, and I know she is the individual she represents herself to be, and that she has continuously resided in this State since the ....... day of ...... 18_.
