Athens, Ga., February 28-
A unique and interesting plan has been adopted by the people of Hebron church, several miles out of Athens, of which the Rev. J. D. McPhail, assistant pastor of the Presyterian church of this city, is pastor also.
The heads of the families of the congregation-all farmers-have decided on setting aside a definite portion of land, half an acre for each plow operated, for the causes of the church-pastor'
s support, missions, education and the like. More than twenty acres have been marked off-the actual product of that definite area to be set aside, handled, sold and contributed to the church. If the crop on that patch fails the church loses-if it flourishes better than the remainder of the farm, the church gets the increase. The church paid $200 to pastor'
s support last year and had preaching once a month; it is planned to make for the next year fully $1500 and support a minister for every Sunday in the month.
