Fighting His 20 Year Sentence, Haygood Gets Another Year for Cursing.

Maysville, Ga., September 19-

Pink Haygood, fighting for a new trial on his twenty-year sentence for complicity in the murder of a man named Murray, got an additional year in the county chaingang yesterday when he was found guilty of feigning insanity and cursing and otherwide insulting women near his cell.

Physicians told Judge Brand that Haygood was feigning insanity in order to escape his twenty-year service, and the judge ordered him to serve in the chaingang for using obscene language. At the end of that time the question of a new trial will be gone into.

[There is a Pink Hegwood, age 24, listed in the 1910 Banks County census living in the Washington District.]
