DAVID, James H.
Departed this life, January 21st, 1878, at his residence in Banks county, Ga., Deacon James David [James H. David], aged 78 years and 4 months, fifty years of which he had been a member and officer of Kandler'
s Creek Baptist Church. For near two years before his death, owing to severe affliction, he was unable to attend to his church meetings, in which he had been a faithful worker for Christ for so long. Bro. David was truly one of the best men I ever knew; he was faithful, honest, pious, and modest; manifesting a zeal for Christ and the salvation sinners worthy of imitation, and possessing the charity which '
never faileth'
. In his death, his children and grandchildren have lost a faithful and affectionate officer; his neighbors a friend tried and true; his country one of her best citizens. But their loss is our eternal gain. As a shock of corn, fully ripe, he has been gathered by his Savior, in the garner on high.
