JAMES, Ruth Lewallen

Ruth Lewallen James, 86, of Baldwin died Monday at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Banks County to the late Felton and Ora Lewallen, she was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Henry James Sr.; daughter, Julia Wilson; sons, J.D. James and Henry James Jr.; brother, Vernon Lewallen; and sister, Vivian Martin.

Survivors include her son, Edward James, Cornelia; brothers, Blakeley Lewallen, Soperton, and Robert Lewallen, Florida; sisters, Lillian Yarber, Demorest, Pernea Stowe and Bunice Smith, both of Cornelia, and Ramona Hill, Hollingsworth; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home. The Rev. Gene Todd will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

JONES, Pammie Ann Keasler

HONEA PATH - Pammie Ann Keasler Jones, 96, of 8 Riley St., widow of Frank Jones, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Homer, Ga., she was a daughter of the late David Jackson and Mary Cash Keasler. She was the oldest member of Chiquola Baptist Church and was retired from Honea Path Shirtmakers.

Surviving are five sons, Charles Jones of Honea Path, Harold Jones of Honea Path, Ed Jones of Elberton, Ga., Dennis Jones of Honea Path, and Larry Jones of Belton, three daughters, Eugenia Brock of Honea Path, Virginia McCoy of Belton, and Doris Hughes of Honea Path, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Iona Whitt, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Childers, Rev. Brad Haynes, and Dr. Jerry White officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 2 PM Wednesday. The family is at the home of a grandson, James W. Jones, 212 Charles Burton Rd, Honea Path. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.

JONES, Roy

June 19, 1929-June 13, 2005

Roy Jones, 75, of Homer died Monday at Banks-Jackson-Commerce Medical Center.

Born in Banks County to the late Ollie Olivia Ferguson Jones and Cofer Verdell Jones, he was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of Homer Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Head Jones, Homer; stepsons, Michael Merck and Mitchell Merck, both of Athens, and Rickey Merck, Acworth; brother, William Jones, Lula; and sisters, Olivia Brady and Lillie Dale Duson, both of Toccoa, and Edna Sailers, Acworth.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Homer United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim McLendon will officiate. Burial will be in Banks Memorial Gardens, Homer.

JORDAN, Barbara Ann McDuffie

May 12, 1945-Dec. 29, 2005

Barbara Ann McDuffie Jordan, 60, of Alto died Thursday at Habersham County Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Born in Banks County to the late Boyd and Vida Allen McDuffie, she was a homemaker and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack McDuffie, Grady McDuffie, Leon McDuffie, Jimmy McDuffie and Willis Lee McDuffie; and sister, Doris Campbell.

Survivors include her husband, Lenward Jordan, Alto; daughters, Ninia Crane, Baldwin, and Bobbie Robinson, Clarkesville; brother, Billy Joe McDuffie, Cornelia; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Crossroads Baptist Church. The Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell and the Rev. Clyde Garrison will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

JORDAN, Roland Douglas

March 2, 1941-Oct. 19, 2005

Roland Douglas Jordan, 64, of Lula died Wednesday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Banks County to the late Alonzo T. and Rushia Segars Jordan, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a store keeper chief on a number of ships, including the USS Fulton and the USS Mazama. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He managed the Level Grove Road Union 76 Gas Station for 17 years, and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ronald "Ronnie" Jordan.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Jordan, Charleston, S.C.; sons, Ron Jordan, Banks County, and Scott Jordan, Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Doris J. Rowland, Augusta, Maxine J. Phinazee, Buford, and Ann J. Braswell, Jasper; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home. The Rev. David Harbin will officiate. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

JORDAN, Weldon C.

Died March 31, 2006

Weldon C. Jordan, 78, of Homer, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Stephens County Hospital.

He was the son of the late Luther and Lille Belle White Jordan. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army, a deacon of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church and a Gideon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Bishop Jordan, and a sister, Evelyn Forrester.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Jordan, Homer; sons, Randall Jordan, Gainesville, and Swayne Jordan, Homer; daughter, Vickie Cotton, Lula; sisters, Mattie Jean Ayers, Commerce, and Jo Ann Jordan, Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Ivie Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. The Rev. James Duncan and the Rev. Phil Parks will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Flowers are optional and those desiring may make memorials to the Gideons.
