Woodie Sellers Landreth, 82, of Greenville, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at her residence.
Born in Banks County, Ga., she was the daughter of J.B. and Reppard Caudell Sellers.
She was a retired employee of JP Stevens, and was a member of Brandon Baptist Church and the Missions Group #3.
Surviving are a daughter, Beckie Richards of Greenville; two sons, Terry Grissop of Travelers Rest and Ted Landreth of Piedmont; grandchildren, Kimberly Spencer, John Grissop, Deana Menegay, Beth Richards and Josh Landreth; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willard Sellers of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mrs. Landreth was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Carvin "Loge" Landreth.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial at Graceland Cemetery, West.
The family is at the residence.

Prominent Citizen Dies
Death came to Mr. F. L. LANGFORD at his home in the Hudson River community of Banks county, last Friday afternoon at 6 o'clock, following an illness of six days from pneumonia. He was 42 years of age, a native of the county in which he died and one of the best farmers within her borders. His citizenship was of great value to his county. Standing for progress, good government, education and ever championing the side of right and morality in every cause, he won for himself an enviable record and the highest respect of his fellow citizens. His counsel will be missed and in his going away, the community has lost a strong man.
Having made Commerce his trading headquarters, Mr. Langford was intimately known here. He was admired for his native ability, successful achievements and for his integrity. His death is sincerely mourned by the scores of friends here who have enjoyed his acquaintance and friendship.
The funeral was conducted from the home Saturday, Rev. C.A. STRICKLAND, of Talmo, officiating, and the internment took place in the Burgess cemetery.
Besides his wife and four children, he leaves to mourn his departure, four brothers-W.H. and George Langford of Pocataligo, A.C. Langford, of Hebron, and S.J. Langford of Royston: and two sisters, Mrs. W.A. SEWELL, of Cromer's Mill and Mrs. A.J. BIRD, of Commerce.

Mr. William A. Langford, 94, passed away Saturday morning, June 26, 2004 at home on Wilton Dr. in Decatur. He was married to his love, Frances [Rhoda Frances Collins] (1912-1996) for 61 years. William farmed as a youth, and then found a career with the Army Corps of Engineers for 35 years. He rose from surveyor to Chief of Planning and Control branch, Real Estate, S. E. Division. William loved his church and was a deacon, youth Sunday school worker, committee worker and member of the Seekers Sunday School class at The First Baptist Church of Decatur. He enjoyed several years in the Lion's Club. William is survived by one of three sisters, Fannie Vandiver of Jefferson, GA; one daughter, Betty Bedgood and her husband Dale of Texas; one son, Bill Langford and his wife Ruby of Stone Mountain, GA; Betty's children, Jennifer von Drechsel of Texas, and Scott Bedgood and his wife Margaret of Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Cox and husband Mark; brother-in-law, Carlos Vidal; and several nieces and nephews. The family requests donations to CBF Global Missions, in lieu of flowers. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with Dr. Harold Zwald and Dr. Peter Rhea Jones officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 29th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons.

Langston was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainman and is survived by his wife and two small children.

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Fannie Potts Cheek. She graduated from Banks County High School and was a retired supervisor with Banks County Department of Family and Children Services. She also worked at Banks County Registrars Office and was a member of Homer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Lewallen, Homer; sons, Steve Lewallen, Homer, Al Lewallen, Savannah; brother, Tom Cheek, Atlanta; sisters, Nelda Rabeneck, Atlanta, and Edith Corley, Lexington, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

Monteen Newsome Lewallen, age 83, of Baldwin died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at a private nursing facility following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County on July 25, 1922, she was the daughter to the late Albert and Minnie Brady Newsome. She retired from Habersham County Schools as a lunchroom attendant. She was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School Class for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adger B. Lewallen; brother, Albert Newsome Jr.; and sisters, Laurene "Bob" Whitfield and Pat Berry.

While Cranking his automobile yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in front of his home, 56 Simpson street, W. C. LOCKHART, age 39 years, was stricken with apoplexy and fell to the pavement dead. Besides his widow he is survived by two children, his father and a brother. Mr. Lockhart had been for the past ten years representative of the W. H. Miles Shoe company, of Richmond, Va., and was considered one of the most popular salesmen in this territory.
The body was removed to Greenberg & Bond's mortuary chapel and will be taken to Maysville, Ga., where the funeral and interment will take place at his former home.
