A Father-in-Law is Stabbed by His Son-in-Law.

Homer, Ga., August 31-

On the road from Homer to Harmony Grove, six miles from here, is a negro church, known as Flat Creek. For some days and nights past a revival has been in progress, and hundreds of darkies are assembled from all parts of the country. During the services on last Sunday night, George Sanders, a white man, had loaded himself up with pop-skull whiskey and opened up to preach a sermon of his own, greatly to the disturbance of the colored congregation. Sanders's father-in-law, a Mr. Sailors, was present and succeeded in getting him to leave the grounds and go up to his house. When the party reached Sailors's house, Mr. Sailors was remonstrating with his son-in-law in regard to disturbing public worship, when Sanders assaulted him and inflicted several severe stab wounds, one of which may prove fatal. Sanders was arrested and was tried before a justice of the peace on two charges, one for the assault and one for disturbing public worship. Mr. Frank Sanders went on his bond for the first offense for $1,000, but he failed to secure a bondsman for the other offense and was committed to jail at this place last night.
