NICHOLS, John C. - Captain, July 29, 1861. Retired May 8, 1862. elected Captain of Co. I, 4th Regt. Ga. Cavalry (Clinch's), Jan. 2, 1863. Paroled at Thomasville, Ga. May 9, 1865. Died at Blackshear, Ga. Dec. 25, 1893.

 

OSTEEN, John - Private March 4, 1862. Captured, date and place not given. Paroled at Richmond, Va. July 4, 1865.

 

PAXTON, James M. - Private April 29, 1862. Appointed Sergeant. Wounded, left shoulder permanently disabled, at Monocacy, Md. July 9, 1864, and captured there July 10, 1864. Paroled at Point Lookout, Md. November 14, 1864. Received at Venus Point, Savannah River, Ga. for exchange, November 15, 1864. Pension records show he was declared unfit for duty by Medical Examining Board at Madison, Ga. April 8, 1865; and again at Macon, Ga April 12, 1865, and was at home on wounded furlough close of war. Born in Georgia.

 

PAXTON, John - 2d Corporal July 29, 1861. Appointed 5th Sergeant Sept. 1, 1861. Elected 2d Lieutenant May 8, 1862. Wounded at Cold Harbor, Va. June 27, 1862. Elected 1st Lieutenant Aug. 28, 1862. Resigned on account of wounds Apr. 25, 1863.

 

PEARCE, Hardy - Private July 29, 1861. Killed at Winchester, Va. September 19, 1864.

 

PRUDOM, Lewis (Purdom -?-) - Private July 29, 1861. Appointed Corporal October 15, 1861. Wounded at 2d Manassas, Va. August 30, 1862. appointed Sergeant May 18, 1864. Captured at Spotsylvania, Va. May 20, 1864. Transferred from Point Lookout, Md. to Elmira, N.Y. July 6, 1864, and released there June 30, 1865.

 

PURVIS, Jordan L. - Private April 21, 1862. Captured at Savannah, Ga. December 21, 1864. Released at Fort Delaware, Del. June 16, 1865.

 

RAULERSON, James W. - Private August 18, 1861. Roll for February 28, 1862, shows him present. No later record.

 

REGISTER, Guilford - Private July 29, 1861. Captured at Spotsylvania, Va. May 20, 1864. Released at Elmira, N.Y. June 30, 1865.

 

ROBINSON, James T. - Private July 29, 1861. Died Richmond, Va. July 24, 1862.

 

RODDENBURY, Henry J. - 4th Corporal July 29, 1861. Appointed 3d Corporal Sept. 15, 1861. Elected 2d Lieutenant July 31, 1863. Resigned Jan. 30, 1865.

ROLAND, James W. - Private July 29, 1861. Died in C.S.A. General Hospital at Charlottesville, Va. June 22, 1862.

 

ROLAND, John W. - Private July 29, 1861. Wounded at Manassas, Va. August 30,1862.

 

ROLAND, Robert - Private August 23, 1861. Deserted in 1863. Captured at Greencastle, Pa. July 3, 1863. took oath of allegiance to U.S. Government and enlisted in U.S. service at Point Lookout, Md. Jan. 25, 1864.

 

ROLAND, William H. - Private July 29, 1861. Roll for Feb. 28, 1862 shows him present. Pension records show leg was broken at Sharpsburg, Md. September 17, 1862. Wounded in left side at Chancellorsville, Va. December 13, 1862. Born in Ware County, Ga. December 7, 1831.

 

ROOKS, John T. - Private July 29, 1861. Roll dated November 8, 1864, last on file, shows he was detailed for hospital duty at Richmond, Va. Admitted to C.S.A. General Hospital at Farmville, Va., on account of debility, Feb. 25, 1865. Returned to duty April 1, 1865.

 

ROOKS, William Edward - Private July 29, 1861. Admitted to C.S.A. General Hospital at Danville, Va., on account of debility, September 9, 1862; and furloughed November 10, 1862. Pension records show he contracted dropsy in service and was discharged in 1864. Born in Wayne county, Ga. in 1841.

 

SIMPSON, H. J. - Private April 28, 1862.

 

SKINNER, Moses - Private July 29, 1861. Absent, sick, February 28, 1862. Enlisted as a private in Company "I", 4th Regiment Georgia Cavalry (Clinch's).

 

SMITH, Abraham Daniel (or David) - Private August 23, 1861. Transferred to Company A. Admitted to General Hospital #9, at Richmond, Va. January 15, 1864; "Disposition: Jackson, date January 16, 1864." No later record.

 

SMITH, General M. (or George) - Private July 29, 1861. Captured at Spotsylvania, Va. May 20, 1864. Died of pneumonia at Elmira, N.Y. January 31, 1865. Grave #1782, Woodlawn National Cemetery.
