Looking for information on the family of my great grandmother,
Onnie WILLIAMS. When my father was younger, he visited
with her family in Blitchton, Bryan Co. Onnie was born between
1863 and 1865 and, apparently was married to a FUTCH. She
later married my great grandfather, John P. SHERROD, and
they lived in Emanuel Co.

My grandfather's WILLIAMS family was from Bryan Co. somewhere in
or near Blitchton. His grandmother, ONIE b. 1860's had either a
sister or sister-in-law named DAUGHTRY WILLIAMS, who lived
in Blitchton. Does Daughtry sound familiar to anyone? Can
anyone tell me more about this family? My grandmother said that it
seems that Onie may have also had at least one brother named
CHARLIE, who was somehow involved with the railroad.

L Soto20 Dec 1999 Does anyone know who the Mrs.
Sarah SHEFFIELD is in the 1820 Census of Bryan County, GA? I know
there was a William SHEFFIELD Jr. in Bulloch County that
was married to a Sarah WILCHER, but he was still alive and
listed in the Bulloch County 1820 Census. William SHEFFIELD
Jr., had a brother Austin SHEFFIELD, that died in 1813,
and his widow, Sarah SHEFFIELD remarried a John GEIGER
in 1816 in Bulloch County, and they are listed in the 1820 Census
of Bulloch County. I believe that this Sarah SHEFFIELD may
be the mother of my ancestor John H. SHEFFIELD, listed in
the 1840 Census of Bryan County. His wife is Sarah ?, and his
children were Dempsey SHEFFIELD, Isham SHEFFIELD,
Martha SHEFFIELD b. 1841 d. 1924 Candler County m. Green THRIFT
in Tattnall County, GA 1860's, Mary SHEFFIELD, William SHEFFIELD,
Sarah SHEFFIELD. This family has been so puzzling to me
since I began researching it. I know that the Sarah ? SHEFFIELD
wife of John H. SHEFFIELD died in the 1860's, I pull!
ed Martha SHEFFIELD THRIFT's death certificate, father was
listed as John SHEFFIELD POB: unknown mother: unknown POB
of mother: unknown was listed.
