WEEKS, Nash was Anderson WEEKS' eldest brother.He married Lollie DOWNS, they had three kids Henry Pascal, Olin and Alice. Henry was my dad he had 9 children of which I am the youngest. Olin and Alice had no childern.We've been looking for this man's last resting place for many a year.They say that he's buried in Guyton? With no marker it's almost a bust.I feel that if we can connect to the family in N.C. life would be good.

I'm interested in corresponding with anyone who is familiar with the BIRD family of Upper Bryan Co.! I am looking for additional proof that I am a direct descendant of Israel Robeson BIRD and his wife Ann STAFFORD BIRD. Israel is the brother of Sylvanus BIRD who lived in Bryan Co.. Israel BIRD and his father Burgund BIRD are reportedly buried at Black Creek Cemetery. In Oct. when I went home (Chatahm Co.) I tried to locate the Black Creek Cemetery where the BIRD family is buried, but I was unsuccessful. Other BIRD family members who lived in Upper Bryan Co. were Sylvanus BIRD (1741-1780) and his wife, Dinah STAFFORD BIRD (1747-1809), Andrew BIRD, Sr. (born 1772) and Eleanor GILES BIRD married in the 1790s. . . . . .Other members of the family who settle in upper Bryan were Abraham Bird (born 1770) and Alexander Bird (1774-1837). I am willing to share information on the BIRD family.

Am interested in the LIGHTSEY line that was found in the 1860 Bryan County Georgia Census as follows: ·#140: Isaac LIGHTSEY 29 S.C. (1831), children: Caroline 23 Ga., Josephine 4 Ga., Franklin 2 Ga., Mary J. 1 Ga. Josephine married my great-great-grandfather, Robert CARTER, and I'm trying to find information on both of them. They are buried at Brickyard Cemetery, which I understand is in Bulloch County and not Liberty or Bryan.

Am looking for information on the CARTER family that may have lived in the Bryan County area. The names sought are: My grandfather was Robert Franklin (Frank) Carter (b. 02-27-1879, d. 03-20-1933) and he married Lula Elizabeth Wells, both supposedly from Bryan, Liberty, or Chatham County, GA. Robert Franklin (Frank) Carter supposedly lived near Kings Ferry south of Savannah. His father's name was supposedly also Robert & his mother's name was Elizabeth. Robert Frank Carter also had brothers and sisters named: Ishmael, Carrie, Mamie, Mallie, Rozella, Levi, Daniel, Josephine, & Edward. The father of Lula Elizabeth Wells Carter was Columbus Wells (no DOB DOD) and her mother was Mary Ann Groover (1850-1892, also some spelling is Gruber), both were supposedly from Liberty County or Bryan County, GA also. They were married on 11-29-1877, and had children Lula Elizabeth, Beulah, Janie, & Leila. Sister says they may have lived near Gum Branch community near Hinesville. Lula Wells Carter supposedly had 2 children prior to her marriage to Robert Frank Carter (unknown if thru marriage). Had a girl named Mabel (deceased) & a boy named Julian also deceased. Mabel mothered children who reside in Savannah.
also: In the Monday, March 6, 1933 edition of the Savannah Morning News, Ishmael CARTER (son of Robert CARTER and Josephine LIGHTSEY) is reported sot and killed at King's Ferry on the Ogeechee River. His nephew, Isaiah CARTER, was bound over in the Bryan County jail, pleading self-defense. Ishmael CARTER was survived by brothers Robert Franklin CARTER, Maney CARTER, and Levi J. CARTER of Savannah and E. J. CARTER of Ways Station, Ga. Also four sisters Mrs. H. L. Conway, Mrs. S. J. Dickerson, Mrs. J. M. Farr, and Mrs. J. H. Allen, all of Savannah.

My great grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jane DUGGAR SOLOMONS, had family in Bryan County, particularly in the area of Pembroke. She married Moses A. SOLOMONS and had 3 boys Jasper A. SOLOMONS, Solie S. BRANNEN and Miss Alice DUGGAR of Pembroke, Mrs. Laura MOORE, Manassas, and Mrs. A. R. ZITTRAUER, Marlow; and three brothers, W. W. DUGGAR, J. W. DUGGAR, and G. W. DUGGAR, all of Pembroke. She is buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery, SAVANNAH, GEORGIA.

I was trying to start my search with my grandfather, Carson NEWMAN, who passed away in the early 80's. He married Pauline CROSBY who is still living in Blitchton. Unfortunately I am starting out with limited knowledge and any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. I just want to know my roots beyond just my father and grandfather.
