BROWNLEE CEMETERY
Brownlee Road near crossing of Aboothlacosta Creek, Jackson, GA.

This Cemetery is only remembered by descendants of the Brownlee family with stories that have been handed down through Generations as it its location. At Various times, Mrs. Rose Brownlee Etheridge mentioned to her daughter Mrs. Jane Weaver, as they passed the hill near the aboothlacoosta Creek crossing on Brownlee Rd. that there was a Brownlee family burial ground located there. The Bridge is still there today but the Creek is not marked. The Cemetery is located on the Jackson side of the hill & covered with Kudzu, therefore impossible to do a survey.
We noticed also that this Cemetery was marked on a Butts County Map.
At one time, James Brownlee owned this land. George Weaver, a descendant has supplied us with this information.
Follow GA 36 West, .4 Miles to Brownlee Road and turn left. Follow this Road to a bridge crossing. The cemetery should be on the left on a Hill.
