Bonnell - Delk

Mr. J. J. Bonnell, of Sparks, Ga., and Miss Mattie Delk, of Senoia were married Saturday morning, Oct 15, 1898, by Rev. L. M. Lyle of the First Methodist church, Senoia, at the residence of the bride's parents.

The bride is one of Coweta's best girls and is a beautiful and accomplished young lady with many friends in this city.  The groom is one of Georgia's most enterprising young farmers.  The bride will leave in a few days for her future home in Southwest Georgia.

The above marriage notice was handed in by a friend of the family who failed to note the romantic feature of the match.  The contracting parties had been writing to each other for some time, but had never seen each other until the groom came to claim his bride.  They found each other through the columns of a newspaper.  When they met face to face they agreed to be joined for life and were married.  Senoia Enterprise-Gazette
