POSTOFFICE – ASHAMED

There were five or six republicans who recommended a republican to be appointed postmaster in Jackson.  No democrat would have asked for Mr. Thaxton´s removal from that position.  He gave full and complete satisfaction to all.

We feel actually ashamed to tell the people who has been appointed postmaster at Jackson in the place of Mr. W. R. Thaxton who has been removed for being a democrat.  Our people feel humiliated and outraged and a regular howl of indignation is being heard.
