QUICK WORK

Last Friday morning Sheriff Lawrence, of Putnam county, came over to Jackson after a Negro man by the name of Jeff Thomas, alias George Washington, for the murder of a Negro by the name of Oscar Scott on or about September 1.   Lawrence gave Sheriff Beauchamp all the information he had as to the whereabouts of the murderer.  Taking this, our sheriff went out and within two hours had “cotch his blackbird.’  The Putnam sheriff, “cuffing’ his man, left the same day for Eaton   Beauchamp is a daisy sheriff.
