Dr. W. C. Bryant made Capt. A. G. Hitchens quiet an unique present at his silver wedding on Wednesday evening. It was a glass globe, covering two silver half dollars bearing the dates 1870 and 1895, and over them was painted a rainbow, and underneath was a verse of poetry:

If love has filled the intervening years
Cast back thine eyes
And behold it rise

It was the cynosure of all eyes and is highly treasured by Captain and Mrs. Hitchins for its originality.
