Dr. W. C. Bryant made Capt. A. G. Hitchens quiet an unique present at his silver wedding on Wednesday evening. It was a glass globe, covering two silver half dollars bearing the dates 1870 and 1895, and over them was painted a rainbow, and underneath was a verse of poetry:
If love has filled the intervening years It was the cynosure of all eyes and is highly treasured by Captain and Mrs. Hitchins for its originality.

And behold it rise
