Bob Logue - Too Glib of the Tongue

A few weeks ago we mentioned the fact that Bob Logue had been fined $5 by Mayor Bailey for shooting recklessly on the streets.   He threw his hat down on one of the most prominent streets and shot at it five times with a pistol.

He was indicted by the grand jury for carrying concealed weapons and to this charge entered a plea of guilty.   The sentence of the court was $40 or six months.   At the time of passing the sentence it did not occur to Judge Beck that Bob had been recklessly shooting on the streets so the net morning he had the young man brought before him for the purpose of giving him a much needed talk.  Preliminary to the lecture Judge Beck inquired.

Why did you do that shooting?

Well, Bob responded, it was my pistol and my hat.

Well, it was not your street and you get $75 or twelve months, and the chapter ended.

The fine has not yet been paid.

Lucky Bob Logue

Last week mentioned the fact that Bob Logue had been given a sentence of $75 or twelve months for carrying concealed weapons.  At the eleventh hour Mr. George Thompson very kindly paid the fine and secured a job for Bob as convict guard for the Bain chain gang in Jasper county at $10 per month.   This was luck for Bob and exceedingly kind in Mr. Thompson
