Fitzgerald, Georgia

The new town of Fitzgerald, which has just been established in South Georgia by a colony of Northern immigrants, promises to be a small-sized wonder in town building.  It is three months old and has 1,500 inhabitants already.   Its promoters expect to lay claim to a population of 10,000 within a few more months.   It is the center of the Grand Army Colony, which is settling in Wilcox and Irwin counties, Georgia
