Snake

We were in a swamp several miles from Jackson last week, and saw a snake dragging himself lazily around in the sunshine.   He, she or it was about four feet long.   Our first impulse was to bruise it head , but upon reflection we thought the snake was at home and we were intruding. Mr. Ball thought it a good idea to kill it, but our better nature triumphed. We might have felt differently if the snake had been smaller.
