Spence Richards - Wife and Child
The wife of Spence Richards, col., who lives on the farm of Mr. J. H. McKibben near town, died Tuesday. On Wednesday he carried the 17 months old baby to its mother's burial, and while the obsequies were being attended the child died and it was put in the coffin with its mother in less than two hours after the breath left it. The child had been sick several days, and the father was advised by those present to the course he pursued. He has the sympathy of the community, and no one censures him for the strange set of carrying a live person to the cemetery from which it never returned.
