Stolen Items - Little Ethel Watson
Ethel Watson, a little Negro girl 12 years of age, and daughter of Lucy Watson, colored, of this county, stole a bolt of dress goods, a parasol and other articles from the store of B. F. Moon in this city on Monday last and was promptly jailed. On account of the tender age of the prisoner, she was released from jail Tuesday evening by a promise from her mother to give her a good thrashing for her wayward conduct. The girl slipped the articles under her cloak while her mother was trading in the store and they were not missed until after her departure, but a search of the home of he negro revealed the stolen goods, all of which were recovered.
