Manzo Glover to Hang

Manzo Glover to Hang

Manzo Glover, colored, who shot and instantly killed Cary Henderson, near here about three months ago, was tried in the Superior court here last week, and sentenced by Judge J. B. Estes to be hanged on November 15th.

The crime was committed on Mr. J. T. Wright-s place, three miles from town, about one o-clock Sunday morning and was a case of cold blooded murder.

The negroes had a big party on the place Saturday night and some half a dozen stayed there, presumably gambling and became disputing about the money, when the Glover negro pulled the other negro from the house and shot him one time in the back while running thereby causing instant death.

He left the county and made his way to Lawrenceville. Sheriff Anderson hearing of his move, wired the chief of police of Lawrenceville, who arrested him on Monday afternoon and lodged him in jail.

Glover is a young Negro and is not over 22 years of age. Covington Enterprise
