C. G. Abbott Buried In DeKalb Co.
Mr. Charlie G. Abbott, 68, of the Stark Community, died Thursday, August 14, in Griffin-Spalding County Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Mr. Abbott was born August 30, 1906 in DeKalb County, the son of the late Mr. Posey Landrum Abbott and Mrs. Lizzie Nancy Goddard Abbott.
Mr. Abbott had lived in Butts County for a number of years and was self-employed, owning and operating Abbott Memorials in Stark.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at three o'clock from the Philadelphia Baptist Church in the Klondike Community of DeKalb County with the Rev. R. W. Jenkins, pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Butts County, officiating. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery with Sherrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Abbott is survived by one son, James L. Abbott of Jackson; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
