Mrs. Margaret Boyd Abernathy
Mrs. Margaret Boyd Abernathy, 66, of LaGrange died Monday at the West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Funeral services for Mrs. Abernathy will be held Thursday at the East Vernon Baptist Church in LaGrange. Rev. Clayton Scott and Rev. Frank Sledge will officiate. Interment will be in the Shadow Lawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mrs. Abernathy was born in Butts County, the daughter of the late William G. Boyd and the late Sallie Hutchens Boyd. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the East Vernon Baptist Church.
Mrs. Abernathy is survived by daughters, Priscilla Matula and Melody Johnson both of LaGrange; son, Alex Abernathy of LaGrange; sister, Sara Parr of Mableton; brothers, J. P. Boyd of Cleveland, Freeman Boyd and Wilmer Boyd both of Conyers, and George Boyd of Atlanta.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Hunter Allen Myhand Funeral Home of LaGrange is in charge of funeral arrangements.
