Mrs. E . L. Adams Died in Quitman
Mrs. Mollie Carter Adams, 82, widow of E. L. Adams, former Jackson businessman, died Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Presbyterian Home in Quitman Ga. She entered the home a month ago from Atlanta and had been in ill health for the past year.
Connected with prominent pioneer families of Butts county, she was born September 16, 1872, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John S. Carter. After her marriage the family resided in Jackson where Mr. Adams operated a mercantile business and later moved to Jacksonville, Fla. where he died in 1947.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Riverside Park Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Fla.
Funeral services were held at the Jackson Methodist Church Sunday at 3 p. m. and the Rev. P. M. Minter and the Rev. V. S. Broyles Jr. of Atlanta officiated. Burial was in the family lot in the Jackson cemetery and Peacock & Ball Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
The pallbearers were D. P. Settle, L. M. Spencer, J. C. Holcomb, John Hutcheson, L. J. Ball, T. E. Robison.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Roy LeCraw of Atlanta; two sons, J. F. Adams of Madison, Fla., and L. C. Adams of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, R. L. Carter of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Duke of Orchard Hill and Mrs. I. P. Middlebrooks of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
