Mr. Horace Richard Aiken
H. R. Aiken Buried Sunday at Liberty
Mr. Horace Richard Aiken, 76, of Route 3, Jackson, died at 1:30 a. m. Saturday in the Sylvan Grove Hospital. Mr. Aiken had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Aiken was the son of the late Mr. James D. Aiken of Butts County and Mrs. Annie Clyde Smith Aiken of Monroe County and was born on Butts County on April 9, 1895. Mr. Aiken was a retired carpenter and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday morning at eleven o'clock from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. T. J. Thaxton officiating. Interment was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Aiken is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Sims of Locust Grove and Mrs. Ella Mitchell of Jackson two nephews.
Pallbearers were Neal Baker, Franklin Washington, Oscar Weaver, Jr., Max Perdue, Bobby Whitaker and Fred Hammond.
