Akins Rites Were Held Sunday
Funeral Services for Rev. Albert Akins of Rt. 5, Jackson were held Sunday December 14th, at 2 o'clock from the Mount Zion A. M. E. Church in Jackson. Rev. J. B. Green officiated and interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Rev. Akins died December 9th at Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth. He was the son of the late Henry and Alberta Akins. He was the pastor of the Mt. Oliver Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Mr. Thomas L. Akins of Forsyth. One daughter, Mrs. Ida Mae Tanner of Jackson; five brothers, Mr. Monroe Akins and Mr. H. D. Akins both of Jackson, Mr. Otis William of Williamson, Mr. C. B. Akins and Mr. J. D. Akins, of Jackson.
One sister, Mrs. Carrie Bell Mitchell of Locust Grove, 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
Trimier Funeral Home of McDonough was in charge of arrangements.
