Mrs. Akins Is Buried Friday At Liberty Hill
Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie B. Akins, of the Rehoboth Community, Spalding County, were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the chapel of Pittman Rawls Funeral Home in Griffin.
Elder Paul Mann, the Rev. Worth Huckaby and the Rev. Cleveland Scoggins officiated. Burial was in the Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Akins was the widow of Mr. Seaborn Akins and had made her home in the Rehoboth Community for most of her life. She was a member of the Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Edna Payne of Jackson; Mrs. Carolyn Bunn and Mrs. Pearl Crowley, both of Griffin; Mrs. Melba Thomas of Milner; Mrs. Sarah English of Zebulon, and Mrs. Alice Sauls of Beaufort, S. C.; Six sons, Herbert Akins and Frank Akins, both of Griffin; Olin Akins, Allen Akins and Rufus Akins, all of Orchard Hill, and Haskell Akins, of the Living Center of Griffin; a sister, Mrs. Ida Akins of Living Center; 31 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
