Brother Of Mrs. Pitts Passes In Covington
Funeral services for Aubry Alford, 57, Atlanta and Covington, brother of Mrs. Gay Pitts of Indian Springs, were held in the Chapel of Harwell Funeral Home in Covington Thursday afternoon, February 6, with the Rev. Thomas J. White, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Mr. Alford was a native of Fayette County, but had made Covington his home for the past 35 years. He was a commercial photographer and for many years operated a portrait studio in Covington. He was a member of the Newnan Methodist Church where he lived prior to coming to Covington, and a member of the Covington Elks Lodge. He died in the Covington Hospital February 4 where he had been a patient for one week.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Hooten Alford, Atlanta, one daughter, Mrs. Betty Ann Biggers, Covington; brothers, Eurey Alford, Baltimore, Md., Thelma Alford, Birdus Alford, Newnan; sisters, Mrs. Gay Pitts, Indian Springs, Mrs. H. S. Meschievitz, Cable, Wisconsin, and one grandchild.
Interment was in the Covington City Cemetery with J. C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
