Mrs. R. A. Allen Buried Friday At Jenkinsburg
Mrs. Robert Adell Allen, 58, of Jenkinsburg died early Thursday morning in an Atlanta Hospital following an extended illness.
The former Miss Agnes Elizabeth Burrell, she was born in Greer, S. C., the daughter of Mr. David Burrell and Mrs. Happy Hinton Burrell. She had resided at Jenkinsburg for a long number of years where she was widely known and held in high esteem. She was a member of the Jenkinsburg Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 19, at three o'clock from the Jenkinsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert A. Allen officiating. Interment was in Locust Grove Baptist Church cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Robert Adell Allen of Jenkinsburg; one daughter, Miss Brenda Allen of Jenkinsburg; two sons, Robert A. Allen Jr., of Youngstown, Ohio, and Capt. Marshall Allen of Valdosta; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn New of Decatur, Miss Lois Mears of Atlanta, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of Quitman, Mrs. Nora Cochran of Smyrna; six brothers, Fred Burrell of Atlanta; Cleo Burrell of Mableton, Dewey Burrell of Marietta, Lewis Burrell of Morrow, Jesse Burrell of Roswell, Dorsey Burrell of New Orleans, La.; five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J. O. Minter, Thomas R. Sims, Taylor T. Patrick, Harry Ridgeway, Frank Childs, T. H. Price.
