Mrs. Coral Hope Watkins Allen

Mrs. G. W. Allen Called by Death.
Mrs. Coral Watkins Allen, 77 years of age, widow of the late G. W. Allen, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. D. Allen, in Brookhaven. She became seriously ill last week and was removed to Atlanta for treatment.
Born in Butts county of pioneer residents, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin F. Watkins, large Butts county plantation owner, and Mrs. Emma Darden Watkins. She has spent her entire life on Butts county and was admired for her energy and her devotion to her family and friends. She was a member of the Methodist church. The only daughter ion her family, she was the center of an affectionate family circle.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Brookhaven Methodist church and Rev. Cecil Meyers officiated. Pallbearers were Buell M. Crider, A. L. Wehunt, Irvin Henderson, Paul Wright, Robert Warnock, Maynard Burson. Graveside services were held at the Jackson cemetery Sunday at 4 p.m. and Rev. W. S. Norton and Rev. Cecil Myers officiated. Burial was in the family lot. A. S. Turner & Sons were funeral directors.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Wright and Mrs. E. D. Allen, both of Atlanta; four brothers, A. M. Watkins, Atlanta; Col. W. E. Watkins, Col. J. D. Watkins and Dr. B. F. Watkins, Jackson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
