Forsyth Rites Are Held For Mrs. Mike Allen
Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Allen, 91, mother of the late Homer L. Allen Sr. of Jackson, were held Saturday at the Forsyth Baptist Church with the Rev. Grady Morgan and the Rev. Thornton Williams officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was a native of Monroe county, the former Miss Eva Roquemore, and a member of the Maynard Baptist Church. Mike Allen and Mrs. Edna Jackson of Jackson and H. L. Allen Jr. of Cairo are grandchildren of Mrs. Allen.
Survivors include a son, J. E. Allen; six daughters, Mrs. Gus Pippin, and Mrs. Preston Stuart, of Forsyth; Mrs. Arthur Hudgins and Mrs. Jesse Kent, both of Griffin; Mrs. Harvey Smith and Mrs. Walter Herndon of Macon; one brother, R. L. Roquemore of Mullins, S. C.; one sister, Mrs. J. F. Hammonds of Charleston, S. C.; 42 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
