James M. Allen, Father of Jackson Resident, Passes.
Friends of Mr. And Mrs. H. L. Allen, Sr. Sympathize with them in the death of Mr. Allen's father, James Michael Allen, at his home in Monroe county April 28. The following notice of his death appeared in the Monroe Advertiser:
Funeral services for James Michael Allen of Monroe county, who died at his residence Monday night, were held in Forsyth Memorial Chapel Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Harry V. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and burial was in the city cemetery.
Mr. Allen, who had been in declining health for 10 years, was a life long citizen of Monroe county. He was a member of the Maynard Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Eva Roquemore; two sons, J. E. Allen of Forsyth, and H. L. Allen of Jackson; six daughters, Mrs. Gus Pippin and Mrs. Preston Stuart of Forsyth; Mrs. Harry Smith and Mrs. Walter Herndon of Macon; Mrs. Arthur Hudgins and Mrs. Arthur Pass of Griffin.
