Mildred Townsend Allen

Mildred Townsend Allen, 63, of the Covington Highway, Jackson, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Sylvan Grove Hospital where she had been transferred the previous day.
She had been a patient at the Georgia Baptist Medical in Atlanta for the past several weeks.
The funeral was held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Worthville Baptist Church with the Revs. M. F. Holt and Steve Hart officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born in Butts County, daughter of the late Albert Townsend and Lillie Townsend, who survives. She was employed at Sylvan Grove Hospital for 19 years until her retirement 17 months ago. She was a member, of the Worthville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Troy Allen; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jean Allen of Lithonia, Neal and Diane Allen, and Sam and Joy Allen, all of Jackson; mother, Lillie Townsend of Hilltop Nursing Home in Monroe County; brother, James Frank Townsend of McDonough; several nephews and nieces.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
