Mr. George Luther Amos

Geo. L. Amos, Butts Native, Died March 23
Funeral services for Mr. George Luther Amos, 87, a native of Butts County, were conducted Thursday at Lowndes' Chapel in Atlanta. Dr. Prue H. Kelley officiated with interment in Westview Cemetery. He died Tuesday, March 23, in a private hospital.
A retired employee of the Georgia Power Company, Mr. Amos lived at 1419 Eric St., SE in Atlanta. He had lived in that city for the past 58 years. He was a deacon in the Grant Park Baptist Church, a charter member of the Lakewood Lodge No. 443, F. and A. M., and a member of the Transportation Workers Union, Local No. 732.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Edna Brisendine; three daughters, Mrs. William H. James, Mrs. R. C. Watts, all of Atlanta; a son, George L. Amos, Atlanta; and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Blankenship of Griffin.
