Andrew Ward Anchors
Andrew Ward (Andy) Anchors, 72, of Route 2, the Wilson Road area of Jackson Lake, died Thursday, morning at Sylvan Grove Hospital following an illness of several months.
The funeral was held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Bocian and the Rev. Herbert Chisenhall officiating. Burial was in the Stark United Methodist Church cemetery. Mr. Anchors was a native of Fulton County, son of John Lee Anchors and Ludie King Anchors. He had lived in Atlanta all of his life until he moved to Jackson Lake nine years ago.
Mr. Anchors was employed as a supervisor in finance and accounting at the Atlanta Army Depot until his retirement nine years ago following 32 years of service. He was a member of Stark United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise G. Anchors; sons and daughters-in-law, James A. and Barbara Anchors of Marietta and John R. and Jean Anchors of Lilburn; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Steve Gibson of Atlanta; six grandchildren; a sister, Betty Alligood of St. Petersburg, Fla.; several nephews and nieces.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
