Mrs. Anderson Buried At Union Church
Mrs. Amelia Walker Anderson of Locust Grove road, wife of S. W. Anderson, early Saturday at the Living Center of Griffin after illness of two months.
Mrs. Anderson was a long resident of Spalding County, daughter of the late William P. Walker and the late Mrs. Ida Bell Walker. He was a beloved educator I known by the thousands students she taught as "Miss Amelia."
She was graduated from Shorter College at Rome.
She was a teacher in the Spalding County Schools for may years. She served at one time as Spalding County school Superintendent in the early 40s. At the time of her retirement she was assistant principal and counsellor at Griffin High School.
She was honored on many occasions for her contribution to the boys and girls of Spalding County during World War II.
She was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p. m. in Haisten's Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mike Pinson officiated. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church cemetery on Jackson Road.
