Alonzo Andrews Called by Death
The death of Judge Alonzo Oliver Andrews, one of' the county's highly respected citizens, occurred at midnight Wednesday at his home near Lloyd Shoals. In feeble health for some time, he was able to be in town Wednesday and the fatal attack was without warning.
Judge Andrews was born December 10, 1856; and soon would have celebrated his 84th birthday. He was a son of John Andrews and his wife, Mary Nelson Andrews, original settlers of the Stark community. Widely read and a student of history, Judge Andrews was well informed on all public questions. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Ophelia Smith; one brother, Judge W. M Andrews, of Jackson. Brothers were the late Walter Andrews and S. E. Andrews, the later of whom was a Jackson newspaperman many years ago. An only sister was the late Mrs. Will Pressley.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at Stark Methodist church.
