Joseph St. Elmo Murry Andrews

Mr. S. E. Andrews Claimed By Death
The death of Mr. St. Elmo Andrews, 68 years of age, former well known Butts county citizen but for twenty years a resident of Atlanta, occurred at his home 1832 Lakeland Avenue, Monday morning. Death came after a lingering illness and caused regret to many friends anil relatives in this community.
Mr. Andrews was born in Butts county, a son of the late Mr. John Andrews and Mrs. Mary Nelson Andrews, of Lee county, esteemed residents of this section. The family has long been identified with the upbuilding of Butts county. Mr. Andrews was a member of the Macedonia church. He was actively interested in the business life of the county and was a former editor of The Jackson Record. Disposing of that property in 1908 he moved to Atlanta and had been engaged in the warehouse business for twenty years. Through occasional visits here he kept in touch with his old home and had many friends throughout this section.
Surviving Mr. Andrews are his wife, the former Miss Mary Thornton, of Butts county; a son, Mr. Paul B. Andrews, of Atlanta; two brothers, Mr. O. A. Andrews and Mr. W. M. Andrews, of Jackson.
The body was taken to Macedonia church Tuesday afternoon, where funeral services were held at 4 o'clock. Dr. Fluker, pastor of the Lakewood Heights Baptist church, conducted the services and interment was in the family lot in the church cemetery.
