Mrs. W. M. Andrews Claimed By Death
The death of Mrs. Nannie Preston Andrews, 80, widow of the late Mr. William Montezuma Andrews, occurred Sunday in a hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday at 4:30 p. m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gaither A. Briggs officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia Church cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The pallbearers were J. W. Browning, Herbert Moore, Vincent Jones, H. M. Moore, Ben Garland, George Mathewson.
Connected with prominent early families of the county, Mrs. Andrews was a daughter of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Edson Preston and Jeff Preston, residents of Iron Springs district. Mrs. Andrews spent most of her life in Iron Springs district and several years, ago moved to Jackson for residence. Her husband was a successful farmer and served as justice of the peace in Jackson district. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and long active in its affairs. Following the death of her husband Mrs. Andrews had lived with her children in various cities of the state.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J. S. Jackson of Macon and Mrs. Boyce Loyd of Porterdale; four sons, J. Lee Andrews of Springfield, Ohio; William Nelson Andrews of Center Hill, Fla.; W. J. Andrews, Barnesville and James E. Andrews of Soperton; several grandchildren.
