C. A. Anthony

C. A. Anthony, 80 of Flovilla died Saturday evening at Sylvan Grove Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack earlier in the afternoon.
The son of the late Edward Hampton Anthony and the late Sara Catherine Dixon Anthony, Mr. Anthony was a native of High Shoals, Ga. but had lived in Flovilla for about four years.
He retired from Avondale Mills in Jackson 18 years ago and was a member of the Flovilla Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucy Crawford Anthony of Flovilla two sons, Lanier Anthony of Conyers and Frederick Anthony of Morrow; two daughters, Mrs. Emma A. Riley of Flovilla and Mrs. Evelyn Freeman of Jackson; Nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. L. E. Anthony of Conyers, Mrs. Robert Michael of Monroe; a brother-in-law, Harvey Crawford of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Flovilla Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Duke and Rev. Joe Parham officiated. Burial was in the Jackson city cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Singley, David Riley, Scott Anthony, Dicky Marcott, Pat Regan, and Chuck Upchurch.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
