Arnold Infant
The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Berry Arnold, of Taylor, came to an untimely death last week under very peculiar circumstances. The mother stationed her babe upon a blanket in the cook room, as was her usual custom, and was busily engaged in preparing dinner for the family when she lifted a kettle of boiling water off the stove, taking hold of the handle without a cloth cover. She had scarcely lifted the same from over the stove oven before the scorching became as great so great for her to bear, and forced her to let it fall to the floor, the contents covering the child, which had crawled unnoticed up to where his mother was standing at the stove. The little one lived but a short time. Mrs. Arnold is in deep grief, and has the sympathy of the entire community.
