Pheanious Askin
Pheanious Askin of Route 3, Jackson died July 28 at Emory University Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 10, 1923 in Monroe County, Mr. Askin was the son of the late Thomas George and Alice Edge Askin. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lorene Surry Askin; a daughter, Mrs. Maggie Pittman; five sons, Pheanious Askin Jr., John Thomas Askin, Bobby Lee Askin; Ricky Donald Askin, and Waymon Allen Askin, all of Jackson; four sisters, Mrs. Claudeal Hansford of Miami, Mrs. Ellaweise Edge and Mrs. Minnie Mae Morris both of Bedford, Ohio, and Mrs. Margaret James of Macon; five brothers, Jimmy Askin, T. G. Askin, Roosevelt Askin and Waymon Askin, all of Detroit and Walter Askin of Jacksonville, Fla; an aunt, Mrs. Lura Edge of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and two great - grandchildren; nine sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. James Sherman officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh cemetery.
Trimier Jackson Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
