Alan Wade Queen
Lawrenceville Man Killed In Accident
According to Sheriff Billy Leverette, a Lawrenceville man, Alan Wade Queen, 30, of 936 Brighton Drive, Lawrenceville, was accidentally killed by a gunshot wound to the head at Indian Springs State Park Saturday night about 10:30.
Leverette said Queen, who was camping at the park with his wife and another couple, apparently reached in his truck to get the gun, A Colt .22 single action, which fell from the holster, striking an object and causing the gun to discharge. The bullet struck Queen in the eye and he was rushed to Sylvan Grove Hospital where he was pronounced dead about 11:20 p.m. according to Leverette.
Leverette said Queen had been a cameraman for WAGA-Channel 5, Atlanta, for about five years. His body was returned to Asheville, N. C. for burial.
